Flint Firebirds News Release
Flint, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings announced today the signing of Firebirds' forward Amadeus Lombardi to a three-year entry-level deal.
"It's so surreal to sign an NHL contract," Lombardi said. "This has been my goal ever since I was drafted by Detroit. I'm so thankful I get to spend this time with my family and friends to celebrate. I wouldn't have gotten to his point in my career without them, my coaches and teammates."
Lombardi currently leads the Firebirds with 44 points (21 G, 23 A) on the season in just 31 GP. He ranks 4th in the OHL in points and is tied for 5th in goals. He signs his first pro contract on a current eight-game point streak (12 G, 6 A).
The native of Aurora, Ont. was selected by the Red Wings in the 4th round (#113 overall) in the 2022 NHL Draft after scoring 18 G and producing 41 A in his first season with the Firebirds. Most recently, Lombardi tallied his 100th career OHL point, becoming just the 10th Firebird to do so in franchise history.
The Firebirds selected Lombardi in the 13th round (#245 overall) of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. Lombardi and the rest of the Flint Firebirds return to action Wednesday, December 28th at 7:00 p.m. against the Soo Greyhounds.
