
Detroit City FC Academy to Make Debut at USL Academy Cup

DETROIT, Michigan - The Detroit City Football Club will be sending its inaugural U19 Boys Academy team to the USL Academy Cup at the Hillsborough County Tournament SportsPlex in Tampa, Florida, from Thursday, March 31 through Sunday, April 3.
Detroit City will compete in the U19 Boys Premiere division in Group A - featuring Le Rouge, South Georgia Tormenta, East Atlanta FC and Wake FC.
Le Rouge's roster features 30 of the top youth players in Metro Detroit - including 15 from Detroit City FC's youth affiliates. A familiar name on the roster is Bosh Tanyi - splitting time between the Club's USL Championship side and the Academy team.

Le Rouge played two friendly matches in preparation for the Academy Cup against Inter Detroit of the Midwest Premier League and Lawrence Technological University of the NAIA.
Detroit City will play four fixtures over the four-day tournament. Each of City's matches will kick off at 8 am ET.

The USL Academy will be streaming each match on MuscoVision at www.themomentlive.tv/landing/index. MuscoVision will be featured at every field and will have every live game available to watch for a nominal fee. Access to the feed won't be available for purchase until 24 hours prior to the first match.
Thirty-eight USL clubs will field 76 unique teams to compete in the 2022 USL Academy Cup - the second edition of the tournament. In addition to the on-field competition, there will be player development workshops for coaches and directors, on-site activations and speakers for players to learn about personal branding, media training, leadership tactics and mental wellness, along with events for scouts and college coaches.
Additional USL Championship clubs that will have representation through their academy programs include: Indy Eleven, Hartford Athletic, Louisville City FC, Miami FC, Real Colorado (Colorado Springs Switchbacks affiliate), Phoenix Rising FC, Brooklyn Italians (New York Red Bulls II affiliate), Ironbound SC (New York Red Bulls II affiliate), and Queensboro FC.
