Detroit Assigns Five to Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Saturday assigned forwards Tyler Bertuzzi, Matt Lorito and Evgeny Svechnikov and defensemen Joe Hicketts and Robbie Russo to the Grand Rapids Griffins. In addition, the Red Wings released forwards Louis-Marc Aubry and Kyle Criscuolo and defenseman Nathan Paetsch from their professional tryouts, returning them to Grand Rapids.
The Griffins will open the 2016-17 campaign at home against Chicago this Friday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. before traveling to Chicago and battling the Wolves on Oct. 15.
