Destroyers to make 2005 NBC debut this week

COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Destroyers will make their 2005 debut on NBC this Sunday at 3 p.m. as they face the Dallas Desperados at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Destroyers Head Coach Chris Spielman, after a bye in Week 2, leads his team in the first of two meetings against the Eastern Division rival Desperados. Dallas is 1-1 after winning in Week 1 against Chicago 66-65, but dropped a 55-45 decision at New York in Week 2. The teams split of pair of games in 2004, with the each team prevailing on the road.

The game will broadcast throughout central Ohio on WCMH-TV, Channel 4 as well as on NBC affiliates throughout the entire state of Ohio. ItÂ’s the first of five scheduled appearances on NBC by the Destroyers. Bill Weber (play-by-play) and Mike Pawlawski (color analyst) will call the game for NBC.
