Sean Scott named US Army Ironman of the Week...again

February 8, 2005 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) - Philadelphia Soul News Release

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia Soul wide receiver/linebacker SEAN SCOTT has been named US Army Ironman of the Week for the second consecutive week for his efforts in Sunday’s 51-41 loss to the Chicago Rush. This marks the first time since Weeks 11 and 12 of 2003 that a player has earned the same weekly honor twice in a row. No player has won back-to-back Ironman awards since Weeks 7 and 8 of the 2001 season.

Scott (6-2, 200, Millersville) had a career day for the Soul (1-1) on Sunday. The Philadelphia native recorded a career-high five touchdowns, tying the franchise mark set a week earlier by offensive specialist Steve Smith. Scott caught a total of eight passes for 81 yards on the day and added four tackles on defense.

New Orleans quarterback ANDY KELLY and Tampa Bay Storm defensive specialist JONATHON ORDWAY were also honored as they were named Offensive Player and ADT Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.

Football is NOT over, as the Soul play their home opener this Sunday, February 13 when they host the expansion Nashville Kats. Kickoff is set for 3:00 pm (ET) and can be seen live on NBC Sports (NBC-10 WCAU-Philadelphia). The game can also be heard on News Talk 990 am WNTP-Philadelphia or via the internet at www.philadelphiasoul.com. Tickets are available at www.philadelphiasoul.com and all Ticketmaster outlets.
