Buffalo Destroyers News Release
(BUFFALO, NY) â The Arena Football League announced the list of players unprotected for the 2003 Expansion Draft on Wednesday. Buffalo OL/DL Eric Miller is the lone member of the Destroyers to be unprotected for the draft slated for Tuesday, October 22. Buffalo was allowed to protect 16 players from their current roster. Free agents who played in Buffalo in 2002 and players on Buffalo's exempt roster are not eligible for the draft.
Miller signed with Buffalo prior to the 2002 season as a free agent from the Oklahoma Wranglers. He appeared in nine games recording four and a half tackles. Miller played the 2001 season with the Wranglers and played five seasons with the Florida Bobcats (1996-2000).
Miller was part of three national championships with the Miami Hurricanes (â87, â88, â91). He played defensive line for coaches Jimmy Johnson and Dennis Erickson. In the off-season, Miller is an actor/stuntman. He has appeared in the movies Waterboy, Any Given Sunday, and Replacements.
"There are some talented players available which is usually the case," said Destroyers head coach and general manager Ray Bentley. "At this time, I don 't see us trading to get in on the action...but you never know."
