
Destroyers' Jerald Brown named ADT Defensive Player of the Month

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Arena Football League today announced that Columbus Destroyers defensive specialist Jerald Brown has been named the ADT Defensive Player of the Month for March. Brown is the first Destroyers player to win an AFL monthly award in franchise history.
Brown (5-11, 185, Glenville State), who is in his third season, had an outstanding four games in the month of March. He intercepted four passes, had 20.0 tackles (16UT-8AT) and added four pass breakups. All four interceptions were key to the Destroyers posting a 3-1 record during the month.
Brown's first interception came in the fourth quarter of the March 3 game at New York, which set up the Destroyers go ahead score as the club overcome a 31-17 halftime deficit en route to a 65-54 victory. Two weeks later, Brown intercepted two passes against the Philadelphia Soul, the first of which he returned five yards for a touchdown to give the Destroyers a controlling 20-10 lead. Brown intercepted his fourth pass of the month at Colorado on Mar. 25, and set up Columbus' first score of the game. It was his eighth interception of the season, which ties the franchise single-season record.
Brown was a part of a defense that held two of the AFL's top offenses to franchise lows in points scored, when the Destroyers beat the Soul 53-20 and the Colorado Crush 65-21. The Destroyers also rank among the League-leaders in every defensive category.
The Destroyers return home on Sunday, Apr. 9, to take on the Orlando Predators. Kickoff on Huntington Field at Nationwide Arena is set for 3 p.m. It will be Zooperstars Character Night and Dispatch/Mix 97.1 Family Game. The Zooperstars are hilarious characters dance, flip, bounce, shake, and just plain entertain.

In addition, high school and college students (23 years and under) with a valid student ID may purchase a specially priced $7 ticket beginning two hours before each home game at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office only.

Tickets are also available at the Blue Jackets Zones located at Chiller Dublin, Chiller Easton and Chiller North. All tickets are subject to service charges and facility fees.
