
Destroyers Finale Added On Empire Sports Network

(BUFFALO, NY) â With the Buffalo Destroyers in the hunt for a playoff berth for the second time in franchise history, Empire Sports Network has added the Destroyers final regular season game to its television schedule. The Destroyers (6-7) can clinch a playoff spot with a victory Saturday night when they meet the Los Angeles Avengers (7-6) at the Staples Center. Empire Sports Network will carry the game live at 10:30 PM (EST).
Jim Brinson will handle the play-by-play duties for Empire Sports while Bob Trimble will provide color commentary. The game will also be simulcast on WNSA 107.7 FM and WJTN 1240 AM.
The Destroyers can set a franchise record for victories (current record is six in 2002 and 2001) this weekend as well as the franchise record for road wins in a season (current record is two in 2002, 2001 and 2000). The Destroyers only playoff appearance was in 2000. They secured their spot that year with a 60-52 win over Los Angeles that capped a team record five game winning streak.
In its 12th year of providing the best national and regional coverage, Empire Sports Network is available to a total universe of over five million households via cable systems throughout Upstate New York and Northern Pennsylvania, and through Direct TV (ch.626) and EchoStar (ch.432) home satellite systems.
