(Winnipeg) -- At tonight's sold out CFL Awards in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the Canadian Football League announced Eskimos wide receiver Derel Walker as the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie for 2015.

The Texas A&M product began the season on the Eskimos practice roster before he was activated in Week 8. Walker went on to set a team receptions record for first-year players after amassing 89 catches for 1,110 yards with six touchdowns in 12 games (10 starts).

He earned CFL Player of the Week honours three times in Weeks 10, 14, 19 and CFL Player of the Month for August.
