Denver Outlaws News Release

Denver-June 28, 2007- The Denver Outlaws hit the road on Saturday, June 30, to take on the Chicago Machine. Outlaws attackman Matt Brown, fresh off a five goal performance a week ago, leads the Outlaws into battle against their division rival. Brown has scored a team-high 17 goals through 5 games this season.

The Machine enter the game in last place in the Western Conference, with a 1-4 record on the year. The Outlaws sit at 2-3, which puts them under .500 for the first time in franchise history and in a tie for second in the division.

Each team will be looking to bounce back from tough losses in their last game. Last Saturday, the Machine dropped their game against the L.A. Riptide by a final score of 21-13. L.A. jumped out to a 7-0 first quarter lead and coasted from there, as the Machine lost their league-high third straight game.

Last weekend, Denver lost their second straight game. Denver's 20-14 loss came at the hands of the San Francisco Dragons. The Outlaws led 8-6 at the halftime break, but five goals in the first five minutes of the third quarter gave the Dragons a lead they would not relinquish on their way to an important 20-14 win.

Chicago is looking to get back on the winning side of things, as their only win of the season and in franchise history came at home against the Outlaws, back on June 2, 2007.

For the Outlaws, this weekend's game is the start of a key home and home series against the Chicago Machine over the next two weeks. Denver hopes to get back on track and avenge their early season loss, while climbing back into the Western Conference race.
