Denver Outlaws News Release
DENVER-June 18, 2008-On Saturday the Denver Outlaws (4-1) of Major League Lacrosse return to INVESCO Field at Mile High to play the Chicago Machine (1-4) at 7:00 pm. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Network-Rocky Mountain on Sunday at 12:30 pm and again on Wednesday, June 25th at 10:30 pm. Following the game, the Celtic Tavern at 1801 Blake Street will host the postgame party.
The Outlaws hope to continue dominating at home as they take on Chicago in the first of three meetings. The following week brings the second meeting when the Outlaws travel to the Windy City. July 26th marks the last regular season game against Chicago, as well as the final home game of the season.
History is on Denver's side when it comes to playing the Machine. The Outlaws have an all-time record of 5-1 against Chicago, and it doesn't look like the trend will be reversed this week. Led by Head Coach John Combs, the Machine are currently at the bottom of the Western Conference after their overtime loss to the Barrage last week.
With Denver's win last Saturday, and Rochester (3-2) and Washington's loss (3-2), the Outlaws now have the best record in the league at 4-1. Bud Light MVP Brian Langtry received the MLL Offensive Player of the Week for his six point performance against San Francisco. In addition, Denver leads the MLL in shooting percentage (.378), points (92), and two-point markers (4).
The excitement doesn't stop on Saturday night; Sunday Sessions, presented by U.S. Bank, takes place the following day at INVESCO Field. This free fan fair day begins at 10:00 am where fans should enter through the north tunnel. Fans have an opportunity to pick up tips from the Outlaws, play catch with the players, get autographs, and many more fun activities.
Returning to the Mile High City for the 4th of July, the Outlaws play their next home game against the San Francisco Dragons (1-3) that evening, followed by a high-impact, close-proximity fireworks show. Last week the Outlaws defeated the Dragons, 19-16, in the first of three meetings between the two Western Conference teams.

ROUND 'EM UP
Leader of the pack: Midfielder Brian Langtry is currently in second place in overall MLL scoring with 27 points. Only one point ahead of Langtry is John Grant, Jr. of the Rochester Rattlers.
Solid statistics: Currently leading the MLL with a 4-1 record, Denver also tops the league with a shooting percentage of .378. Their league-high 92 points gives the Outlaws a 13 point lead above second place Long Island.
Stayin' local: The Outlaws have four players who graduated from the University of Denver: Geoff Snider ('06), Matt Brown ('05), Tom Ethington ('02) and Ryan Zordani ('07).
Hometown heroes: Matt Hanna and Brian Langtry both work in the education system. Hanna is the Director of Admissions and the Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Regis Jesuit High School. He also gives back to the community through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado. Last summer he organized two summer lacrosse camps as fundraisers for cancer research. At the Challenge School (magnet) in Denver, Langtry is an humanities and lacrosse elective teacher.
Coaching the kids: A number of the Outlaws coach in the community, including: Greg Bastis, Josh Sims, Brian Langtry, Alex Smith, Matt Hanna and Lou Braun.
Go 'green' or go home: Partnering with Esurance, the Denver Outlaws collect recyclable items during every game. The Outlaws also will be planting more trees around INVESCO Field at Mile High adding to the oxygen in the air and the beauty of the stadium.
From the box to the field: Nine of the Outlaws play for the National Lacrosse League, an indoor professional lacrosse league. The Colorado Mammoth reaps the benefits with five of those nine playing for them during the MLL offseason: Josh Sims, Brian Langtry, Matt Brown, Tom Ethington and Nick Carlson. Scattered throughout the rest of the NLL are: Ryan Powell (Portland LumberJax), Brendan Mundorf (New York Titans), Geoff Snider (Philadelphia Wings), and Drew Westervelt (Philadelphia Wings).
A part of history: Former Outlaws Midfielder Mike Law will be inducted into the University of Denver's Hall of Fame on October 23rd. Law played for the Outlaws their inaugural season (2006) and in 2007, as well as for the Colorado Mammoth. Some would argue that Law is the best lacrosse player to come out of Colorado, attending Regis Jesuit High School. He was DU's first lacrosse honorable mention All-American.
