
Denver Cutthroats Prevail in One Period

Prescott Valley - The Denver Cutthroats battled with the Arizona Sundogs for the second night in the three-game series on Friday, March 21 at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona. The Cutthroats took the lead in the first period and stopped 48 total shots on goal to keep the Sundogs at bay and defeat them 2-1.
Troy Schwab (Phil Tesoriero, Garett Bembridge) lit up the red light for the Cutthroats first goal of the night. Arizona's Shawn Limpright (Bryan Cameron, Jason Morgan) tied the score at one with a shot past Denver's netminder Kent Patterson. The Denver Cutthroats took the lead for the second time in the opening period when Steve Kaunisto (Schwab, J.P. Chabot) fired the puck between the Arizona Sundogs posts.
Kent Patterson stopped 39 shots on goal to hold the Cutthroats 2-1 lead during the remaining 40 minutes of play, sealing their victory over the Arizona Sundogs. The Cutthroats win on Friday night tied the week's series against the Sundogs at one, with a single game remaining. Denver's record now stands at 36-15-11.
The Denver Cutthroats and Arizona Sundogs will face off for their final game in the 2013-14 season series on Saturday, March 22 at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona.
