Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY- arenafootball2 and the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz announced today that Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz defensive specialist JEROMY FLOWERS has been named the ADT Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Yard Dawgz 59-35 victory over the Rio Grande Valley Dorados.
Flowers (6-0, 200, Arkansas) had two interceptions; three pass defenses, six tackles, and a fumble recovery on Saturday night as he helped the Dawgz hold the Dorados offense to 167 yards of pass offense all night.
Flowers and the Yard Dawgz defense forced seven turnovers and Flowers had the first and last of the game. He recovered a fumble on the Dorados' first offensive play and intercepted a pass on the Dorados' final offensive play of the night.
This marks the first time of the 2005 season that a member of the Yard Dawgz has been honored with an af2 weekly award and just the second time in the history of the franchise. Al Hunt was named Ironman of the Week for his performance in week two of the 2004 season.
