Defenseman Randy Jones Claimed Off NHL Waivers

GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, announced today that defenseman Randy Jones has been claimed off NHL Re-entry Waivers by the Los Angeles Kings.

Jones, 28, was placed on re-entry waivers by the Flyers on Wednesday for the purpose of recalling him to Philadelphia. However, since he was claimed by Los Angeles, Jones will report to the Kings. The Quispamsis, New Brunswick native appeared in six games for the Phantoms this season, recording one assist, six penalty minutes and a -2 plus-minus rating. A veteran of 217 career NHL games, Jones has appeared in 153 career AHL games all with the Phantoms, where he scored 64 points (15 goals, 49 assists) and 154 penalty minutes.

The Phantoms are currently on their way to Ontario as they will battle the Toronto Marlies on Friday, October 30th at 7:00 pm at Ricoh Coliseum. Adirondack's next home game is scheduled for Sunday, November 1st against the Syracuse Crunch; a 5:00 pm face off at the Glens Falls Civic Center. There will be a post-game skate with the players for all Phantoms Season Ticket Holders immediately following Sunday's game; Season Ticket Holders must bring their own skates to participate.
