The Aeros (6-4-0-0) play the first of three consecutive road games tonight, 6:00 PM (CST) against the Grand Rapids Griffins (4-4-0-0). The Aeros are coming off a 4-3 shootout win against the Hamilton Bulldogs Tuesday night at Toyota Center. The Griffins have won three consecutive games including a 6-1 victory vs. the Abbotsford Heat on Sunday. Tonight is the fourth in a five-game homestand for Grand Rapids. AEROS NOTES:
The Aeros currently sit in a tie for second place in the West Division with Lone Star rival Texas Stars
at 12 points (6-4-0-0). Houston took over the lead in the intra-state Lone Star Faceoff standings with eight points, the Stars are in second with seven points and the San Antonio Rampage are third with four points.
RW J-M Daoust leads the Aeros with six points (2-4=6) in nine games played after recording an assist
in Tuesday's win over Hamilton. Forwards Robbie Earl, Peter Zingoni and Danny Irmen hold the team lead in goals with Earl recording his third Tuesday against Hamilton.
G Wade Dubielewicz has won his last two starts and is 2-2-0 on the season with a 2.73 GAA and .890 SV%.
Aeros head coach Kevin Constantine is four games away from his 1,100th regular season game coached. Constantine has coached in the USHL, IHL, WHL, NHL and AHL compiling a record of 568-396-114-18.
GRIFFINS NOTES:
The Griffins started the season 1-4-0-0 and were outscored by their opponents 20-11. The Griffins have since won their past three games, outscoring their opponents 15-7.
RW Jamie Tardif (4-2=6), C Kris Newbury (3-3=6) and D Doug Janik (1-5=6) lead the Griffins with six points each.
Tadif is tied with RW Jeremy Williams for the team lead in goals with four. Tardif recorded a hat trick in the team's 6-1 victory vs. Abbotsford on Sunday. Williams enters tonight's game on a three-game goal streak.
G Thomas McCollum is 2-2-0 in five appearances this season with a 2.89 GAA and .885 SV%. G Daniel Larsson is 2-2-0 in four games with a 3.73 GAA and .890 SV%.
