Defenseman Marsh Signs with Inferno

COLUMBIA, S.C. (August 7, 2007) - Head Coach Troy Mann announced that the Columbia Inferno have agreed to terms with defenseman Tyson Marsh for the 2007-08 season.

Marsh, 6'1, 215 lbs., Quesnel, British Columbia native returns for his second season with the Inferno. Last year he played in 48 games, scoring two goals and 19 assists for 21 points. He also had 97 penalty minutes. He appeared in one American Hockey League game contributing one assist and five penalty minutes for the Toronto Marlies. Prior to joining the Inferno, he split time between the Pensacola Ice Pilots and the St. John's Maple Leafs in 2004-05 and the Marlies in 2005-06.

"Tyson Marsh is a player I was interested in being part of our core group returning to the Inferno this season," said Coach Mann. "Tyson brings an overall package of grit, leadership, and puck moving abilities. He has great character traits that will play a large role in the leadership of our team. Tyson will also be an impact player within the specialty teams and overall helping the Inferno be successful on the ice."
