Defenseman Luke Vidmar Returns from American Hockey League

North Charleston, S.C. - Defenseman Luka Vidmar has returned to the South Carolina Stingrays from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL), Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today.

Vidmar, 27, earned his first AHL call-up after skating in 57 games with the Stingrays this season, scoring two goals and 12 assists for 14 points and a plus-minus rating of +5. The Ljubljana, Slovenia, native dressed in six games with the Americans adding no points. Last season, Vidmar appeared in a career-high 62 games with the Stingrays and led team defensemen with 27 points (six goals, 21 assists) and was fourth on the team with a plus-minus rating of +11. In 180 career ECHL contests over three seasons with South Carolina, Colorado and Las Vegas, Vidmar grabbed 62 points (11 goals, 51 assists).

The Stingrays kick off the 2014 Kelly Cup Playoffs with Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Wheeling Nailers on Friday, April 18 at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.
