Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) will look for their 22nd consecutive victory on Saturday in Billings, MT. The Storm will battle the 2006 National Indoor Football League (NIFL) Champion Billings Outlaws at 8:00 PM. The Outlaws finished 2006 with an impressive 16-1 record. This will be the first meeting between the two since July 25, 2004 where the Storm prevailed 44-16 in the NIFL's Pacific Conference Championship. The game can be heard LIVE on 1230 AM KWSN or by logging on to www.siouxfallsstorm.com and clicking on "Listen LIVE.

Sioux Falls came out firing on all cylinders last Saturday in their season opener against Rock River. Entering the fourth quarter up 35-16, the game seemed to be safely in hand. The Raptors were relentless however in the fourth quarter outscoring the Storm 18-9, giving the Storm a slight scare. Wide receiver Leon Hall is currently the league leader in receptions. Hall finished the game with 8 receptions for 52 yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns. His 8 receptions was a career high. He also led the team in all-purpose yards with 132. Terrance Bryant took over where he left off last season tossing five touchdown passes, a league high for week 1. Andre Fields was the leading tackler for the Storm ending the night with 6 solo tackles, 3 assists, and 1 pass breakup.

Billings suffered a heart-breaking one-point loss to the expansion Colorado Ice last Friday. Inefficiency in the kicking game, 3 extra points and two field goals missed, proved to be the difference between a win and a loss. Outlaws quarterback Chris Dixon threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns. Dixon also let the Ice intercept him three times in the game. Charles Frazier led the team in receptions with six, which accounted for 64 yards.

The defense did its job, holding the Ice to just 26 points. Defensive end Eugene Phillips led the way with 11 tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks. Cornerback Corey Roberson added nine tackles while linebacker Travis Salter compiled four tackles and one sack.
