Defender Mitchell Garcia Signs with the Sidekicks for 2022-23 Season

Allen, Texas - The Dallas Sidekicks have announced the signing of Mitchell Garcia. This is Garcia's second season playing in the MASL and first with the Sidekicks. Per team and league guidelines, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Garcia grew up in Avondale, Arizona, and went to high school at Agua Fria High School. He then went on to play collegiate soccer at Phoenix College in 2009. In 2010, Garcia transferred to Grand Canyon University and played soccer there as well.
After college, Garcia went on to play outdoor soccer professionally in the North American Soccer League for the Atlanta Silverbacks and Carolina Railhawks.
In 2016, Garcia signed with the St. Louis Ambush for the 2016-2017 MASL season. While at the Ambush, Garcia played in 17 games and scored four goals, and had three assists. He only played with the Ambush for one season.
He then went on to play outdoor soccer at the Atlanta Silverbacks again. In 2022, Garcia entered the inaugural MASL Combine and Draft. He was selected by the San Diego Sockers in the second round with pick number 14.
Garcia trained with the Sockers over training camp but did not make the final roster. Sidekicks Head Coach Ricardinho and General Manager Jessie Vilkofsky wanted Garcia with the Sidekicks. They invited him to train with the Sidekicks and were impressed with what they saw.
So much so, that Garcia made the roster for the December 29th game and December 31st game against the Mesquite Outlaws. In the December 29th game, Garcia had one assist.
