Halifax Mooseheads News Release
Halifax Mooseheads' defenceman Ben Chaisson is recovering well following surgery to his shoulder and should be ready for the opening of the 2006-07 regular season, team General Manager Marcel Patebaude said today.
The surgery was performed in Halifax by Dr. Douglas LeGay in July and Chaisson is progressing well with his rehabilitation program.
Chaisson will report Friday (Aug. 18) when the Mooseheads open their 2006 Training Camp but will only take part in off-ice programs while continuing his rehab. He should be ready to begin on-ice workouts on Sep. 1.
Players will report on Friday for the Training Camp and will begin on-ice training Saturday morning, with the first session set to begin at 11:00 a.m. at Cole Harbour place. Practice sessions are also scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday and 9:00 a.m. Sunday.
The Training Camp roster will be split into four teams for a Three-on-Three Challenge on Saturday and Sunday evenings, beginning at 7:00 p.m. each night.
Mooseheads open their pre-season game schedule on Tuesday, Aug. 22, when the Mooseheads host the P.E.I. Rocket for a 7:00 p.m. game at the Halifax Forum.
Mooseheads regular season begins Saturday, Sep. 16 at Metro Centre with a game against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at 7:00 p.m.
