Debola Ogunseye Named USL-2 Player Of The Week

Charlotte's Debola Ogunseye named Player of the Week United Soccer Leagues announced the USL Second Division Team of the Week, honoring Charlotte striker Debola Ogunseye as Player of the Week for his two-goal performance in the Eagles' 2-1 win against the Harrisburg City Islanders on Saturday, June 5.
Charlotte opened the match on the attack and Josh Rife had a handful of shots early on, but it was Ogunseye who scored in the fourth minute. After settling a clearance attempt,
Ogunseye took one step to his right and fired a shot into the side netting of the far post for the 1-0 lead.
Harrisburg's Dominic Oppong tallied in the 40th minute to knot the game, 1-1. The goal was the culmination of some strong combination play from the City Islanders. Oppong was named to the USL-2 Team of the Week for his efforts, but Ogunseye shown brighter lifting his team to victory with a second-half goal.
A third USL-2 Team of the Week member, Josh Rife, started the play by dribbling into the box in the 62nd minute. Rife laid the ball off to Ogunseye just in front of the goal, leaving him with an easy tap in for his second goal of the night and fifth of the year.
Come out and watch Debola and the Charlotte Eagles take on Real Maryland this Saturday night, June 12 at Charlotte Christian Stadium; 7:00 PM.
