
De Los Santos turns tide against Norfolk

(Allentown, Pa) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (50-52) got a strong start from Enyel De Los Santos (5-5) on Friday night against the Norfolk Tides (40-64). He allowed just one run over seven innings and guided the Pigs to a 11-2 win.
The offense came to life for Lehigh Valley as they chased Keegan Akin (4-4) out of the game after three innings. The IronPigs took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning as Malquin Canelo hit a sacrifice fly and Ali Castillo hit a two-run double. The double by Castillo extended his hitting streak to nine games.
Norfolk got an unearned run off De Los Santos in the top of the third inning when Ryan Mountcastle scored on a throwing error by Mitch Walding. The Pigs extended their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning to 6-1 against Luis Ysla. Castillo hit an RBI single that scored Walding and
Canelo scored on a ground-ball double play hit by Andrew Romine. Austin Listi added an RBI single for the final RBI of the inning.
Lehigh Valley scored two runs off Matt Wotherspoon in the bottom of the fifth inning as Phil Gosselin hit a two-run home run to give the Pigs an 8-1 lead. The lead got extended to 11-1 in the bottom of seventh inning. Walding and Deivy Grullon each hit an RBI double and Romine got an
RBI on a fielder's choice.
Kyle Dohy pitched the final two innings in relief of De Los Santos. Norfolk got a run against him in the top of the ninth inning as Jesus Sucre hit an RBI single. Jack Reinheimer popped out to third base to end the game.
Lehigh Valley and Norfolk play at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday evening at Coca-Cola Park.
