D.C. United Partners with Ignite Sports Media, Williams Communications to Air Matches

CHANTILLY, VA (April 1, 2002) - D.C. United announced today a partnership with Ignite Sports Media and Williams Communications to broadcast five United matches this season previously unavailable to fans in the Washington market. The first webcast will take place Wednesday night when the Black-and-Red battle the Colorado Rapids at 7:30 p.m. ET. In addition, Saturday's match at Dallas Burn will be online at 8:30 P.M. ET. Sean Wheelock will handle play-by-play duties for this week's games. Fans may listen to the broadcasts by logging onto dcunited.com.

"It is important to D.C. United that our supporters be able to follow all of our matches," said United Senior Vice President Stephen Zack. "With five matches unavailable on various MLS satellite packages, we are happy that dcunited.com is able to carry the action."

Additional webcasts are set for three games in July, including July 20 at Chicago (8:30 p.m. ET), July 24 at Columbus (7:30 p.m. ET) and July 31 at Chicago (8:30 p.m. ET). Comcast SportsNet will televise ten United games this year. The Black-and-Red are on ESPN2 four times. All of United's 28 MLS fixtures are broadcast in Spanish by WACA Radio America 1540 AM (www.radioamerica.com).
