DB Davion Mitchell Assigned to Barnstormers

DES MOINES - Iowa Barnstormers Head Coach and Director of Football Operations Mike Hohensee announced today that the team has been assigned Defensive Back Davion Mitchell on a one-year contract. Mitchell immediately joined the Barnstormers and was on the field with the team this morning during practice at William Penn University in Oskaloosa.

Mitchell (5-11, 180) is a three year veteran of the Arena Football League. He joined the Cleveland Gladiators as a rookie in 2010 and remained with them for two seasons. Last year, Mitchell played for the Pittsburgh Power. For his career, Mitchell has collected 136 tackles, 5 interceptions, 19 pass breakups, 3 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries. He has a knack for being around the ball and making big plays. The Loveland, OH native played college ball at Southwestern.

Training camp in Oskaloosa continues through March 16. The Barnstormers will hold an intra-squad scrimmage this Friday morning at 8:00am at the PAC on the campus of William Penn University.
