Dayton Gems Remain Perfect Against The Flint Generals

The Dayton Gems headed to Flint'sPerani Arena & Event Center to work on their perfect record against the Generals. This was the 5th meeting between the teams and the Gems arrived with 4 wins looking to make it 5.
In the 1st period it took under 7 minutes for the Gems to take the lead when John Snowdenstarted the scoring During a Gems powerplayonly 3 minutes later Joe VanCulen took advantage of the home team and the score was 2 - 0. Then, General's leading scorer, Jamie Schaafsma put Flint onthe board. With just over 2 minutes left Sam Bloom was awardeda penalty shot and easily found the net. 1st period ended 3:1 for the Gems. 2nd period saw only 1 goal this time by the newest Gem, Tim Hartung and the score of 4:1 would hold with the Gems holding the lead throughout the entire game.Gems record is now: 6,5,3,0.
See the Generals vs Gems rivalry continue this Sunday as Flint heads to Hara arena at 5pm.It'll be quite an evening as area mascotstake over the arena.TheBurger King, Big Boy, Wendy,Max & Erma and more! WingedfiguresincludeRedtheRobin from Red Robin, The Frickers Frickin' Chicken, Waddles the Red Cross Duck and Curby the Recycling Cardinal. The Gems own mascot, Blade the Tiger will have to defend his turf against the Flint General with the help of the Dreamy Weeny & more surprise guests around each corner Fans can cheer ontheir favorites as the mascots take the ice for a not to be missed dodgeball game. Joining the fun will the the Pizza acrobatics by The Flying Pizza.
This is the kick off for Thanksgiving week with the Gems. Fans may make adonation of a non-perishable for The Foodbank and their admission will be reduced to only $5. Hara will be waiving the parking fee for all games during Thanksgiving week.
Promotions continue Wednesday with Dollar Beer Wednesday (all Wednesdays will be Dollar Beers through out the season.) when the Gems take on the Bloomington Prairie Thunder.
Friday, as the Gems strive to streak the Flint Generals it's a night for Wizards and Muggles - Harry Potter Night. Prizes will be awarded for best Harry Potter character costume.
See you at 5pm Sunday at Hara Arena for Mascot Night with the Dayton Gems.
