
Dayton Gems Gameday - Gems Travel to Quad City to Battle Mallards Tonight

Dayton, OH - The Dayton Gems travel to the Quad Cities for the fourth and final time this regular season for a solo Tuesday evening matchup with the Quad City Mallards inside the iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois. Faceoff is set for 8:15pm eastern time.
After an unusually light slate of games last weekend, the Gems embark on a jam packed four games in five nights beginning tonight and concluding on Saturday at Hara.
Dayton most recently comes off the heals of a tough 3-1 loss at the hands of the first place Fort Wayne Komets in Fort Wayne on Saturday night. The Gems held a one goal lead before the Komets revved their engines to score three unanswered goals for the decision.
Gameday In Quad City
Tonight marks the 9th meeting this season with the Mallards, with the Gems holding a 2-4-2 record against the flock this season.
Dayton's last meeting with the Mallards came on January 14 in what would be a 9-1 loss inside the iWireless Center. The Gems have won just one game this season in Moline, a 6-3 come from behind victory back on November 4.
The Mallards skate into Tuesday's game with an overall record of 24-18-1 and are surging off a convincing 5-4 win over Bloomington. Quad City remains just two points behind Rapid City for the final playoff spot in the Turner Conference, while their red hot powerplay comes into the matchup leading the CHL with 22.7%.

ammed It for Jimmy - The Gems thawed the IceMen 4-3 in front of a season high crowd of 5,187 inside Hara Arena on Saturday, January 28. Portions of the ticket proceeds went to local teen cancer patient Jimmy Jenks, who dropped the ceremonial first puck.
Larry Saves - netminder Larry Sterling continues to stalk the top of the CHL's stat chart, maintaining a third best save percentage of .921.
Tradin Post - The Gems were just one of four teams to engage in a transaction at the trade deadline (Feb. 6), acquiring blueliner Nick Schneider from Evansville in exchange for Chad Langlais.
Mark the Spot - Dayton's newly acquired netminder Mark Sibbald comes in a trade from Allen. He was named the 10/11 SPHL Goalie of the Year while with the Huntsville Havoc.
All Star Lutes - Brett Lutes represented the Gem City as the lone Gems player participating in the 2012 All Star Game. Luteswould earn two assists and a +5 rating to help his CHL All Star team beat the CHL's Arizona Sundogs 6-4.
The Closer - Dayton's Tim Hartung sits tied for most Game Winning Goals by a defenseman with 3, while leading the CHL'sblueliners in Shootout Goals with 4.
Powerplay Master - Brandon Naurato remains second best in the CHL in powerplay goals with 9. He also scored the game winner last Friday night in the shootout.
