Rush Complete Road Trip Earning Ten of Possible Fourteen Points in 2-1 Overtime Loss to Mavs

(Independence, MO) - On Tuesday night, the Rapid City Rush finally concluded their longest road trip of the season, dropping a 2-1 overtime decision to the Missouri Mavericks at the Independence Events Center. The Rush end the trip with a 4-1-2 record, collecting ten of a possible fourteen points and now in sole possession of the fourth and final playoff spot in the Turner Conference. The squad is finally back on home ice with a pair of games against the Mavericks this Thursday and Friday, February 9th and 10th. After nearly twenty-five minutes of scoreless hockey, the Rush capitalized on a two-man advantage to take a 1-0 lead. After Shawn Limpright found Konrad Reeder at the left side of the net, Reeder snapped a back-door pass to Collin Circelli for the veteran's eighth of the season at 14:57 of the second period.
Five minutes into the third period, Ed McGrane's blast from the top of the left circle evened the score and forced overtime.
Just 1:22 into the overtime period, former Rush defenseman David Simoes fired a wrist shot through a screen for his first goal of the season and the overtime game-winner.
