
Laredo's Torrie Jung Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (February 7, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Laredo's Torrie Jung has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending February 5, 2012.

The Nanaimo, British Columbia native had a solid week at home starting in all three games for the Bucks and earning two shutouts, both against Texas. The 23-year-old finished with a 2-1 record allowing four goals on 87 shots, good for a .954 save percentage.
CHL Goaltending Leaders
His week started on Wednesday with a 29 save gem against the Brahmas, a 6-0 win, and then was followed by a 27 save effort in a 1-0 win against Texas on Friday night. The lone blemish came against the Berry Conference leading Wichita Thunder on Saturday night where he turned away 27 of 31 shots in a 5-2 loss.
The young net minder ran his scoreless minute streak to 125:13 during the week and on the season is 12-15-1 and is tied for the league lead with three shutouts. Jung is 5-1-1 in his last seven decisions allowing just 11 goals over that stretch with all three shutouts on the season coming in that span.
