Texas Legends News Release

CEDAR PARK, TX - The Texas Legends (23-27) traveled to Austin Saturday night for their final game of the season where they fell to the in-state rival Spurs (30-20) 104-84. With the win, the Spurs officially clinched the division championship.

The Legends took their only lead in the first seconds of the game, but Austin answered with an 8-0 run to set the tone. Midway through the second, the Spurs took their largest lead of the half (+17) while out-shooting the Legends 50% to 27%.

Austin came out of the locker room firing and extended the lead to 22 going into the final quarter. Andre Dawkins posted 18 of his 25 points in the second half, but the team as a whole remained cold and the Spurs extended the lead to 30 with 2:30 to play. The Legends spread the ball for a 10-0 run to close out the game, but the deficit was too large to overcome.

Dawkins led the Legends with 25 points while Deng Deng had a game-high 14 rebounds and Patrick Miller dished out a game-best 11 assists. Jamil Wilson added 17 points, 5 rebounds, Micheal Eric tallied 16 points, 7 rebounds, and Bobby Ray Parks rounded out the double-digits with 13 points, 5 rebounds off the bench.

The Spurs were led by Deshaun Thomas with 19 points, 7 rebounds while Brandon Fields added 18 points and a team-high 6 assists.
