FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs got a late goal from Mike Baker to avoid being shut out but fell to the Fayetteville FireAntz, 4-1, Tuesday night at the Crown Coliseum.
The FireAntz took an early lead less than three minutes into the game as Justin Hussar beat James Kruger to make it 1-0. Fayetteville padded that advantage later in the period when Tayler Thompson took a pass from Joe Kalisz and shot it past Kruger, extending the lead to 2-0.
Fayetteville managed two more in the second. Thompson netted his second just over six minutes into the period to make it 3-0. He finished with two goals and pushed his SPHL-leading point total to 45.
