Medford Rogues News Release
WALLA WALLA, WA - A dominant pitching performance by LHP Mac Acker brought the Rogues out of a four-game losing streak as Medford ended a three-game road series with a 5-2 win in Walla Walla.
In the Rogues second inning, 1B Conner George led off with a walk, followed by an error that put SS Corey Wynant aboard. 2B Brody Weiss reached on an infield single to load the bases with no out. C Greg Feinberg followed with another infield single to make it 1-0. A fielder's choice by LF Parker Miles scored two more and the top of the second ended with Medford ahead 3-0.
Single runs by Walla Walla in the second and fifth innings made it 3-2 before a towering home run to left field by Rogues DH Matt Davidson extended Medford's lead to 4-2 through six. The homer was Davidson's second of the season. A double in the seventh by CF Colin Sowers (North Medford High) scored 3B Ray McIntire to extend the lead to 5-2, which ended the scoring in the game.
Acker finished the game with six innings pitched, giving up two runs, walking two and striking out 11. RHP Jeff Hardy pitched a clean seventh and eighth, striking out three in two innings of no-hit ball. Brandon Williams got the final two outs to earn his first save of the season.
Six Rogues had one hit each, the big blow coming from Davidson, and four Rogues had RBIs, as one run was unearned.
