CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, August 6, 2013) - Major League Soccer announced today that the game between the LA Galaxy and D.C. United at RFK Stadium will now be played on Saturday, September 14. The game had originally been scheduled for Sunday, September 15.
Time Warner Cable SportsNet and UniMas will continue to broadcast the game, which will kick off at 1 p.m. (PT). Complete local radio broadcast information will be finalized at a later date.
The Galaxy and D.C. United are tied for the most MLS Cup championships in league history, each being crowned champion four times in the first 17 years of Major League Soccer. LA are unbeaten in the last eight meetings with United, going 4-0-4 in that time, though the two sides have not met since a 3-1 Galaxy win at home on March 18, 2012.
The Galaxy will be back in action on Wednesday in the conclusion of the Guinness International Champions Cup when they face AC Milan at Sun Life Stadium in Miami. That game, which is the tournament's Third Place Match, is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. (PT) and will be shown live on FOX Soccer. The Galaxy will then return to MLS action on Sunday, August 11 when they take on FC Dallas in a game that will be shown live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. They will then return home for the first time in almost a month on Saturday, August 17 when they host Real Salt Lake at StubHub Center. That match, which will be shown live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes, will see the club debut their new third kit, kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and will be preceded by the club's annual Alumni Game.
