Danville Dashers News Release
Danville, IL - The Danville Dashers remain the only unbeaten team at home this season as they take the weekend series from the Watertown Wolves defeating the defending champions 5-3 this evening.
The night would not start the way the Dashers wanted to as the Wolves would jump out to a 2-0 in the first period as Gavin Yates would net both goals for Watertown. Jansen, Whitcomb and Mahoney would add the assist on the two goals. The Magic Man Ryan Marker would get the Dashers on the board in the first with a goal at 14:41 with helpers from Henning and Contratto.
The Dashers would continue their domination in the second as they would fire off three unanswered goals. Fred Hein would score his first goal of the season with assists from Contratto and Atwell. Stephen Gaul would start his impressive night with two consecutive goals at 17:32 and 18:15 of the period.
Gavin Yates would net his third goal of the night at 5:08 of the frame assists from Jansen and Portillo. Four minutes later Stephen Gaul would not play second fiddle to Yates as he would net his third goal of the game with helpers from Contratto and Hein.
The Dashers are back in action on Wednesday night in Port Huron and then will travel to Watertown to take on the Wolves on Friday and Saturday night.
