Enforcers Opening Night Sets A New FHL Record, Surpasses Expectations

November 19, 2018 - Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL)
Elmira Enforcers News Release

ELMIRA, NEW YORK - The Elmira Enforcers opened up the home part of their season and surpassed all expectations as 4,310 fans came out to cheer on the newest embodiment of professional hockey in Elmira.

The amazing crowd roared from the moment the lights went down to the end of the game. Despite the loss on the scoreboard every fan who left First Arena Friday night felt like a winner with professional hockey coming back for the first time in over a calendar year.

The previous FHL record of 3,447 held by the Williamsport Outlaws was outdoors. This was no fluke either as 3,471 filed in for night number two at First Arena as well. The Enforcers may not have picked up any points in the standings, but the overwhelming response from the crowd was that they had picked up some fans.

The Enforcers competed hard and put on a pregame show that even owner Robbie Nichols said "I have been through 30 or so opening nights and that was a show unlike any I've ever seen. Our entire staff should be very proud and this was just the beginning!"

The Enforcers play at home againthis weekend Friday,November 23rd and Saturday, November 24th at First Arena and tickets are available now by contacting First Arena directly at (607) 734-7825.
