
DaShawn Keirsey, Jr. activated from 7-day Injured List

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that outfielder DaShawn Keirsey, Jr. has been activated from the 7-day injured list and INF Ricky De La Torre has been assigned to Elizabethton. Brian Maloney, Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the moves.
Keirsey went on the injured list back on May 12th with a right shoulder strain. He had played in 16 games for the Kernels this season, batting .127 (7-55) with 4 RBI. He was selected by the Twins in the 4th round of the 2018 First Year Player Draft out of Utah.
De La Torre has played in 33 games for the Kernels this season, batting .173 (18-104) with 2 HR and 10 RBI. He was selected by the Twins in the 6th round of the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of the Puerto Rico Baseball Academy.
Keirsey is active and available for tonight's 6:35 PM game vs. Beloit. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster remains at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with four players currently on the injured list.
The Kernels return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium tonight and open a three-game series with the Beloit Snappers. First pitch is at 6:35 PM with the gates opening at 5:30 PM. The current homestand continues through Monday, August 12th.
