Winston-Salem Dash News Release

FREDERICK, MD (May 9, 2012) - For the second straight night, the Dash's road game with the Frederick Keys has been postponed due to rain. Winston-Salem and Frederick will play two of the three scheduled games in this series Thursday in a doubleheader. The twin bill will feature two seven-inning contests, with the first game starting at 11 a.m.

With the exception of Thursday's doubleheader, the Dash and Keys do not play in Frederick again during the first half of the season. As a result, the third game in this series will likely be made up at BB&T Ballpark during the Dash's four-game series with the Keys May 28-31.

For the second straight day, rain hit Harry Grove Stadium during the afternoon and evening hours. Both teams waited until approximately 8 p.m. when the game was officially postponed.

This is the third Dash game that has been affected by rain in 2012. The Dash and the Wilmington Blue Rocks played less than an inning April 22 at BB&T Ballpark before heavy rain brought about a suspension of that game.

Winston-Salem has not played since Sunday. The club had a scheduled day off Monday before making the trip to Frederick Tuesday. The Dash pace the Carolina League with a record of 18-11, one-and-a-half games better than second-place Salem in the Southern Division.

Pre-game coverage on wsdash.com begins at 10:45 a.m. Thursday for the Dash's doubleheader with Frederick. There will be a 30-minute break between the conclusion of game one and the start of game two.

The Dash return to BB&T Ballpark Monday, May 14, for a seven-game homestand. For tickets and more information, visit wsdash.com or call (336) 714-2287.
