Danville Braves to Host Player Meet-And-Greet

DANVILLE, Va. - The Danville Braves organization is pleased to present the date of its annual Meet the Braves Night on Monday, June 18, 2012. The team will host this year's event at American Legion Post 325 Field in Dan Daniel Memorial Park. The stadium was the site of the first Meet the Braves Night back in 1993 when the club relocated from Pulaski to Danville at the start of the '93 season.
The event is free and open to the public. It will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. with an hour-long autograph signing. A team practice will immediately follow the player signing. Fans can see players take to the field in their final pre-season warm-up before the home opener.
The first 500 attendees will receive a free hot dog and soda voucher good for that night. Fans can place bids on a variety of baseball memorabilia in a specialty night silent auction. The auction items range from Braves gear to prizes provided by local area businesses. Auction proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Danville. Meet the Braves Night gives local residents of all ages the chance to personally interact with each and every member of this year's team, including front office personnel, players and field staff.
All attendees are encouraged to bring baseballs, cards, posters, and team wear to the event to have signed by players for a memorable souvenir. Official Appalachian League baseballs and game-worn batting helmets will be made available for purchase at the event for a nominal fee.
ALP 325 Field is located at 302 River Park Drive in Danville. The home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, June 19 when they welcome the Elizabethton Twins to town.
