Danville Otterbots News Release
DANVILLE â The Appalachian League's top offense was on display Wednesday evening at Legion Field as the D-Braves routed the Bristol White Sox 11-4.
The Braves started the scoring in the second inning, plating five runners. Shortstop Derrick Arnold blasted a three-run home run, his third of the season, to lead the offensive attack.
Bristol countered with four runs in the third inning on a J.D. Foust grand slam to cut Danville's lead to one run. The White Sox would not get any closer, however, as the Braves widened the margin by scoring four runs in the fourth and two in the sixth.
Lefthander Kelvin Villa pitched four shutout innings in relief of starter Nelson Payano to pick up his third victory of the season.
The two teams meet again tomorrow at 7 p.m. on the final Thirsty Thursday of the season at Legion Field. All draft beers and fountain drinks will be $1.
