Daniels leads BayHawks over Toros

AUSTIN, TX - Erik Daniels scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Erie Bayhawks defeated the Austin Toros 95-85 on Monday night at the Austin Convention Center.

San Antonio Spurs assignee Blake Ahearn had 19 points on 5-of-16 shooting in his first game since being assigned to the Toros. Marcus Williams added 19 points and 10 rebounds for Austin, who drop to 1-2 on the 2008-09 season.

The Toros trailed by as many as 21 points in a game and trailed 53-37 at halftime. Austin and Erie met for the first time in franchise history.

All five starters for the Erie BayHawks scored in double figures including Ivan Harris with 16 points, Maurice Rice with 15, Oliver Lafayette and Jackie Manuel both had 14 for the Bayhawks, who improve to 1-1.

Austin returns to the Austin Convention Center on Wednesday morning against the Dakota Wizards at 11 a.m. in a School House Day Game.
