Danick Gauthier Reassigned to Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned forward Danick Gauthier to the Syracuse Crunch from the Wichita Thunder (ECHL), Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Gauthier, 23, has 35 points (16g, 19a) in 40 games with Wichita this season, plus two points (1g, 1a) in three games with the Florida Everblades (ECHL). He was Wichita's lone representative at the 2015 CCM/ECHL All-Star Classic Jan. 21 in Orlando and scored his team's first goal.

The 6-foot-2, 210-lb. Repentigny, Quebec native played one game with the Crunch this season, Oct. 25 at Portland.

During the 2013-14 season Gauthier split time between the Crunch and the Everblades. He appeared in 19 games with the Crunch, posting seven points (3g, 4a). Gauthier spent most of his rookie season (2012-13) in Syracuse collecting 10 points (5g, 5a) in 38 games, also appearing in five ECHL contests.

Before turning pro, Gauthier played 219 career QMJHL contests for Saint John, posting 146 points (76g, 70a). Gauthier native was signed by Tampa Bay as a free agent on March 2, 2012.

The Crunch play their next three games at home, Wednesday vs. Hartford, Friday vs. Bridgeport and Saturday vs. Springfield.
