Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks News Release
Hat Tricks unable to find the back of the net in the shootout, resulting in a 3-2 loss on Friday.
In the first frame, the Hat Tricks got off to a rough start, following a goal from Rebels forward, Charles Panchisin. Goalies, Lukas Fursten (DAN) & Jakub Krbecek (PHI) would battle out the rest of period, before a Philadelphia double minor against forward, Brock Jones, would put the Hat Tricks on their first power play of the night. The Hat Tricks would play out the rest of period with some good looks on net, but none on the board.
To begin the second frame, Danbury would have a 1:11 power play that would be capitalized on by Hat Tricks d-man, Noah Ziskie, 0:38 into the period. Danbury would be given two more power play opportunities that they were unable to take advantage of. On their second power play, Philadelphia took the lead on a shorthanded goal from forward, Jared Coccimiglio. Danbury would end the period on a penalty kill with defenseman, Ivan Korodiuk, committing a tripping penalty against the Rebels. The Hat Tricks would kill the penalty and head into the locker room, down 2-1.
In the final frame, the Hat Tricks once again struck early with a redirected goal from forward, Wyatt Stefan, to put the Hat Tricks in a tie with the Rebels. The rest of the third period would see Fursten & Krbecek making big time saves to send the game into overtime. Overtime would begin with the Hat Tricks gaining possession off the draw, however both teams would get looks on net before a Philadelphia Rebels goal was scored, then called no goal due to a kicking motion. Both teams would hang on for the shootout. Danbury was unable to find the back of the net on all three shots, however, Rebels forward, Charles Panchisin, would come up with the only goal in the shootout, to win the game for Philadelphia 3-2.
The Hat Tricks are back in action tomorrow night against these same Rebels, for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop. It will also once again be dollar drafts night at the Danbury Ice Arena. The promotion will run through the end of the second period. The game will also be streamed on NAHLTV at 7:00 p.m.
