Vancouver Giants News Release
Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants announced on Wednesday that the hockey club will be collecting donations in support of Basics for Babies for Fill the Rink night when the G-Men host the Portland Winterhawks on Wednesday, March 1st, at 7:00pm.
Country music star Dallas Smith will be in attendance at the game for the ceremonial puck drop before hosting a meet and greet with fans. To qualify for the meet and greet, fans must bring a minimum $10 donation to Basics for Babies. Smith will be signing autographs and taking photos with fans during the first intermission in the Envision Financial Banquet Hall, so make sure you bring your donations.
"Basics for Babies is a great initiative that we are excited to be able to support," said Dale Saip, Giants Senior Vice President. "We're also thrilled that Dallas Smith will be joining us at the game to give our fans an added incentive to donate to this very worthy cause."
Basics for Babies was created in 1994 when 93.7 JRfm recognized a chronic shortage of baby products at Lower Mainland Food Banks. With the help of partners, Basics for Babies has raised over $2 million and hundreds of thousands of pounds of diapers, baby food, formula, pabulum, and other items.
