Dallas Sidekicks to Hold Open Tryouts for 2014-15 Season

ALLEN, Texas (Sept 10, 2014) - The Dallas Sidekicks will hold a series of open tryouts on September 24-25 and October 1-2 at Soccer Spectrum in Richardson. Interested players will have the opportunity to train in front of Tatu and other Sidekicks coaches, learn from the staff and ultimately try to earn a place on the 2014-2015 Dallas Sidekicks.
The Sidekicks have had success in the past finding talent through open tryouts, former star and current Assistant Coach Mike Powers making the team 1987 after an impressive tryout. The defender went on to spend 15 seasons with the Sidekicks and still holds team records. Sidekicks Director of Soccer Operations and fellow past Sidekick Nick Stavrou will lead tryouts and is looking for the next future indoor star.
"DFW is such a great area for soccer players. There is a lot of talent here, and we're hoping that these tryouts give an opportunity for some unknown players to take the next step in their careers and contribute to our team this year," Stavrou said.
Each tryout will span a two-day period. The first day of each open tryout will feature one session from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m., while the second day will have two sessions - the first from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. followed by one from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. All Sidekicks hopefuls must be available to participate in all sessions.

Checks or money orders may be mailed or dropped off at the Sidekicks office at 1301 W. Parker Rd., Suite 108, Plano, TX 75023. Credit cards will be accepted online, but $5 will be added to total registration fee. Payment must be received no later than the Monday prior to each session to secure a spot. No walk ups are allowed and spots are limited. A t-shirt will be included in the cost and all fees are non-refundable.

The Sidekicks will open their season at home on Saturday, October 25 at the Allen Event Center in the inaugural match of the Major Arena Soccer League. Dallas will face the 2013 MISL champion Missouri Comets in a match that is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. Individual and season tickets for the 2014-15 season are now on sale.
