Dallas Sidekicks News Release

Allen, TEXAS (Nov. 19, 2015) - This Friday the Dallas Sidekicks (0-1) will take on the Las Vegas Legends (2-1) at 7:35 p.m. at Allen Event Center. This will be only the third meeting between Dallas and Las Vegas, the Sidekicks 2-0 in the all-time series. The match comes one week after the Sidekicks dropped their opening game of the season to the Missouri Comets 8-6.

"There were a lot of positives from game one that we can take into our matchup with Vegas," Sidekicks Head Coach Simon Bozas said. "We're proud of the work we've accomplished in such a short time, taking it step-by-step to grow and develop together as a team. We've been working hard this week to prepare."

Arthur Ivo will make his season debut on Friday, a forward who scored two goals and notched two assists in eight games last season. Goalkeeper Juan Gamboa will be back in net after he put up a strong showing in net against Missouri.

The Southwest Division Las Vegas Legends make their way to Allen Event Center with a 2-1 record. After defeating the Sacramento Surge 6-5 in their home opener on Nov. 1, the team split back-to-back games last weekend, beating Saltillo Rancho Seco 10-8 before falling to the Brownsville Barracudas 8-7.

Vegas' offense is well distributed throughout the roster, defenders Eric Guzman and Felipe Gonzalez sitting atop the team's leaderboard in scoring. A familiar face will be a part of the Legends lineup, former Sidekicks midfielder Nestor Hernandez making his return to Allen Event Center after recently signing with Las Vegas. In his time with Dallas, Hernandez scored 41 goals and notched 19 assists in two seasons.

Las Vegas is coached by Mariano Bollella, who led Monterrey La Raza to an MISL championship in 2010. He later coached the Rio Grande Flash, Hidalgo La Fiera and Oxford City of Texas, leading all three teams to the playoffs. Historically, Bollella is 6-3 when coaching against Dallas.

This will be the first of two meetings between the teams during the regular season, the Sidekicks traveling to Las Vegas for a match on Feb. 12.

In honor of Veteran's Day this month, the Dallas Sidekicks in partnership with The Veteran Tickets Foundation are giving individuals and businesses the chance to give back to those who have served with the Sponsor a Veteran program, providing free tickets to veterans/servicemen and their families for this Friday's match. All Dallas Sidekicks home games are aired on the Time Warner Cable SportsChannel (local channel 825) and can be streamed free online at www.golivesportscast.com.
