Allen, TEXAS - It was a fast-paced, high-scoring battle between the Dallas Sidekicks and Milwaukee Wave on Thursday night at Allen Event Center. The match saw two hat tricks and overtime, Milwaukee coming out on top 7-6.

After a heavy battle for possession, the Sidekicks were first to strike ten minutes into the game, forward Rubencho making an impressive solo run through the Wave's defense and in. Milwaukee was quick to strike back, however, leading scorer Ian Bennett knocking in a pass off the boards past Dallas goalkeeper Milo. The two teams traded several close calls throughout the second quarter, but the Wave were the only team to capitalize, Marcelo Fontana scoring at 11:54 to give Milwaukee a 2-1 lead going into halftime.

The Wave carried their positive momentum into the third quarter, Bennett netting his second goal of the match just 18 seconds in. The teams would trade goals for the remainder of the quarter, Sidekicks midfielder RJ Luevano cutting Milwaukee's lead in half at 7:57, taking advantage of a scramble in front of the net following a Dallas restart. Defender Ray Aguayo followed up seconds later with a goal of his own to tie it up, beating Wave goalkeeper Marcel Feenstra. Two goals a-side from close range followed, Bennett scoring his third of the game at 11:59 and Luevano his second at 12:23 to tie it up 4-4 going into the final 15 minutes of play.

The fourth quarter began just like the third, Milwaukee's Bennett with an early goal to reclaim the lead for his team. Shortly after, a hard run from Luevano resulted in an expert pass to Sidekicks forward Cameron Brown, who played it off his chest and in to tie the game. The first powerplay of the match came at 7:47 in favor of Milwaukee, who capitalized with goal from Sean Totsch. The Wave were awarded another two minutes with a man advantage with three minutes to go in the game, during which they effectively held possession until they were also shown a penalty to bring play to a four-on-four battle. The Sidekicks took a chance and entered defender Cody Ellis as a sixth attacker and it paid off, RJ Luevano putting it between the legs of Feenstra, tying the game 6-6, netting a hat trick and sending the game into overtime. The hero of the night -would come from the Wave, Marcio Leite scoring at 2:37 to win it 7-6 for Milwaukee.
