Dallas Sidekicks Edge out Wichita B-52s to 7-6 Victory

Allen, Texas - Five Dallas Sidekicks contributed goals to earn the Sidekicks (1-1) their first win of the season, defeating the Wichita B-52s 7-6 Saturday night at Allen Event Center. Midfielder Ricardinho notched the winning goal, and Jamie Lovegrove scored his fourth career hat trick in front of 3,768 fans.
The Sidekicks came out strong in the first quarter, Carlos Videla netting his first goal of the season 3:56 in, followed by Jamie Lovegrove just a few minutes later to take a 2-0 lead. Wichita did not see the back of the Sidekicks' net until the beginning of the second quarter, but an onslaught of offense, including a shorthanded goal, put Wichita up 3-2 going into halftime.
Lovegrove scored his second goal of the night 2:27 into the third quarter, a give-and-go with Cameron Brown tying the match for a second time. Less than three minutes later Lovegrove completed his fourth career hat trick to give the Sidekicks a short lead, but Wichita's Carlos Farias tyed the game four-a-side at 7:01. Two more Wichita goals put the B-52s up 6-4 going into the final 15 minutes of play. Angel Rivillo notched his first goal as a Sidekick at 6:16 in the fourth, and Shaun David tied the match soon after. A blunder by Wichita goalkeeper Boris Pardo gave Dallas midfielder Ricardinho the opportunity to give the Sidekicks a 7-6 lead, which would hold until the final whistle and cement the first Sidekick victory of the season.
The Sidekicks will return to action on Saturday, November 15th, when they host the Brownsville Barracudas (1-0) at 7:00 p.m. at Allen Event Center.
