OFFENSE COMES ALIVE SATURDAY VS. RAPIDS
Heading into Saturday's match vs. Colorado, the Burn were fifth in the league in scoring, averaging only 1.00 goals per game, while the Rapids boasted the league's top-rated defense at 0.71 goals per game. The Burn's offense exhibited its explosive potential as the team erupted for three goals in a 3-1 victory. Defender Steve Morrow netted a pair of goals while Antonio Martinez tied a team record, assisting on all three tallies. After having his goal-scoring streak snapped at five games the previous week, Jason Kreis picked up where he left off, netting his team-leading sixth goal of the season. Kreis has now accounted for six of the Burn's ten goals this season.

Behncke, 22, was drafted by the Burn in the second round (18th overall) in this year's MLS SuperDraft. Mayard, a third round pick in the 2001 draft, had seen action in three Burn games, all in 2001, playing 27 minutes.
