
Dallas Assigns Left Wing Luke Gazdic To Texas

Cedar Park, TX - The Dallas Stars announced Thursday that left wing Luke Gazdic has been assigned to the Texas Stars, Dallas' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Gazdic is expected to play this weekend when the Texas Stars host the Lake Erie Monsters and Hamilton Bulldogs. The 21-year old left wing was drafted by the Dallas Stars (#172 overall) in the sixth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-3, 228-pound forward played the last three seasons with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The Toronto, ON native scored 42 goals and added 30 assists for 72 points in 188 OHL games. The rugged winger was among the team leaders each year in penalty minutes, finishing with 407 penalty minutes for his junior career. Gazdic played in two games with Idaho (ECHL) after completing his junior eligibility in April of 2009. The rookie forward scored a goal and racked up 14 penalty minutes with the Steelheads this past spring.
Texas continues a three-game home stand on Friday, October 23rd at 7:30 pm in a rematch with Lake Erie. Cedar Park Regional Medical Center presents Friday's game, providing "Thundersticks" to the first 2,000 fans. On Saturday, October 24th, Texas will host the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7:00 pm. State Farm presents the Family Four Pack Saturday, including four hockey tickets, four sodas and four hot dogs for $44.00. The first 2,000 fans to the game on Saturday receive a Texas Stars Sports bottle.
