Daleo named coach of CBA Eastern All-Stars

Rockford, IL- There will be a familiar face on the sidelines at the 2004-05 CBA All-Star Classic in Gary on January 19th. Rockford Lightning head coach Chris Daleo has earned the honor of coaching the Eastern Conference All-Star Squad when the Lightning finished in first place in the conference. The CBA All-Star head coaches were named by virtue of finishing with the highest quarter point average at the conclusion of games on Saturday, January 8th.
This is the second time in his three seasons that Coach Daleo has coached an All-Star team. In his first season, 2002-03, Daleo coached the American Conference All-Stars in a 140-125 loss to the National Conference in Sioux Falls. In the 2002-03 season when he was American Conference All-Star coach, he also earned two Coach of the Month and the 2002-03 Coach of the Year award. After games on January 8th of this season, the Lightning had the best quarter point average in the Eastern Conference (3.809). The Lightning also lead the league in scoring this season under Coach Daleo, averaging 109.1 points per game.
"I'm very excited for my staff. Coach Thomas is part of an All-Star coaching staff back in his hometown of Gary. Troy and Dave have worked very hard this season, and this should be a great experience for them, especially being their first year in the league," says Coach Daleo. Daleo will be opposed by Dakota head coach Casey Owens, who currently holds the best quarter point average in the league. Tip off for the 21st CBA All-Star Classic at Gary's Genesis Center will be at 7:30 on Wednesday, January 19th. The All-Star squads will be named on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

Hosted by Don Pablo's Mexican Kitchen, Lightning players and coaches will be on hand to meet and greet fans, answer questions and sign autographs. There will be food and drink specials, and the "Meet The Team Party" will run from 7 to 8 p.m. at Don Pablo's Mexican Kitchen on East State Street.
