Dakota Wizards Playoff Games to be Televised Live

April 16, 2007 - NBA G League (G League) - Dakota Wizards News Release

BISMARCK, ND, April 16, 2007 - The Dakota Wizards of the NBA Development League announced today that they have teamed up with NBC North Dakota Sports and KFYR TV for live broadcasts of all home playoff games during the 2006-07 NBA Development League Postseason presented by Delta Airlines. The first of which will be the Eastern Division Championship game on Saturday, April 21 at 7pm CT.

The partnership will be the first ever local broadcast of a live Wizards basketball game. Earlier this season, the Wizards game on New Years Eve was broadcast on a tape delayed basis worldwide on NBA TV.

"There's a lot to be said about firsts!" exclaimed Wizards General Manager Tom Wagganer, "KFYR-TV has done a tremendous job with televising the Class B & Class A state tournaments, so for us to be a part of their basketball family is really something special. This will give our fans from all over the state a chance to experience the excitement of Wizards basketball."

"After a number of years of hosting Wizards Watch it seems only fitting that when the opportunity arose to broadcast a full Wizards game, it was an easy decision," said KFYR TV Sports Director Lee Timmerman. "North Dakota Sports is dedicated to broadcasting local sporting events and we are excited to be able to bring this game to sports fans across the state."

By virtue of their first place record, the Wizards will receive a bye in the first round in the post-season. The Wizards will then host the winner of the first round match-up featuring the Sioux Falls Skyforce and the Fort Worth Flyers.

Should the Wizards advance the D-League Championship game, it will also be broadcast live on NBC North Dakota Sports and KFYR TV on Sunday, April 29 at 6pm CT. To find out the latest on the Wizards potential opponents, please visit
